How SVUCE’s Batch Ambassador Approach Resulted in 7,000+ Verified Alumni Registrations 

Through focused outreach, Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering (SVUCE) successfully registered 7,084 alumni on its alumni portal. Formally registered in 2018, the SVUCE Alumni Association (SVUCEAA) oversees all alumni engagement initiatives for the university. Its primary objective is to work for the welfare of its alumni community, offering professional and personal assistance to alumni in need, promoting entrepreneurship, creating opportunities through networking, and supporting gatherings for alumni across the globe. 

The association also aims to involve alumni in guiding students for competitive exams, contributing to institutional development, and providing financial support for students.

To achieve these objectives effectively, the association set out to get 10,000 alumni to sign up on the portal, enabling streamlined engagement and making it easier to connect, support, and collaborate with the community.

The Approach That’s Working

SVUCE Alumni Association adopted two key techniques that proved instrumental in mobilizing alumni and ultimately achieving 7,084 registrations on the alumni portal.

1. Batch Ambassadors

The association identified over 885 active alumni from 65 different batches spanning multiple age groups. Sharing a strong affinity for their alma mater and well-connected within their respective batches, these alumni were tasked with ensuring their peers registered on the portal by sharing mobile app and website registration links in batch-specific social media and WhatsApp groups. They also regularly posted updates on association activities to encourage participation.

To coordinate these efforts, the association created a dedicated WhatsApp group called SVUCE Ambassadors, where members share batch updates and other relevant information to help drive registrations. The group admin posts weekly statistics on new signups, keeping everyone informed and motivated to reach the target.

2. Early Student Onboarding

Recognizing that today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni, the association actively encouraged current students to register on the alumni portal, connect with alumni, and begin building professional relationships. This initiative proved highly successful, with 1,900 of 2,100 students signing up, adding to the 7,084 alumni registrations.
