High-stakes exams are being minimised, with internal assessments, projects, and practicals gaining higher weightage \u2014 promoting year-long learning over last-minute preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Teacher Training and Professional Development<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Teacher training and professional development are central to the policy. NEP 2020 advocates for a <strong>four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme<\/strong> to enhance teaching quality. India&#8217;s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education currently stands at 32.5%, with NEP targeting 50% by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Leveraging Technology<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Technology integration is a key pillar of NEP 2020. The policy emphasises digital resources, online courses, and virtual laboratories to keep education accessible and current. The <strong>DIKSHA platform<\/strong> now serves 35 million users, and the <strong>National Digital University<\/strong> was launched in January 2025 \u2014 extending quality education access to students across the country, including in remote areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Equity and Inclusion<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Equity and inclusion are fundamental principles of NEP 2020. The policy strives to bridge educational gaps \u2014 ensuring equal access to quality education for all, irrespective of socioeconomic background, gender, or geographical location. A <strong>Gender Inclusion Fund<\/strong> and targeted interventions for socioeconomically disadvantaged groups are key mechanisms driving this goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEP 2020 is not just a policy document \u2014 it is a decade-long reform agenda that is actively reshaping how India teaches, learns, and evaluates.
